Punajuuri-suklaakakku (Beetroot Chocolate Cake)

TA�mA�n kakun tein maanantaina nimipA�ivA�kseni. Olin ajatellut, ettA� olisin saanut kakun alulle jo sunnuntai-iltana mutta toisin kA�vi. TytA�t eivA�t olisi millA�A�n malttaneet kA�ydA� nukkumaan ja sitten kello olikin jo niin paljon, ettei ollut enA�A� mitA�A�n saumaa alkaa leipomaan. Viime viikot ovat olleet henkisesti rankkoja, ahdistus on ollut lA�snA� joka pA�ivA�, eikA� se vielA�kA�A�n ole helpottamassa. On vain mentA�vA� pA�ivA� kerrallaan eteenpA�in ja toivottava, ettA� jonain pA�ivA�nA� helpottaa. Isoja muutoksia on ollut viime aikoina, esikoinen aloitti osapA�ivA�hoidossa ja nuorempi tytA�istA� aloitti kerhon ja kA�y siellA� muutaman tunnin pari pA�ivA�A� viikossa. TA�mA� siis tarkoittaa muutamaa tuntia omaa aikaa minulle, ja olenkin ajatellut ettA� voisin kA�yttA�A� sitA� esimerkiksi blogin pA�ivittA�miseen. Ideoita on useampia mielessA�, ja tA�ytyisi vain lA�ytA�A� sopiva rakonen niiden toteuttamiseen.

TA�ssA� kakussa yhdistyy punajuuri ja suklaa, niiden kombo on mielettA�mA�n hyvA�. Reseptin kakkuun lA�ydA�t alta. Testaa ihmeessA� tA�tA� ihanan tA�ytelA�istA� ja silti niin mehevA�n pehmeA�A� kakkua. Sopii hyvin pimeneviin syksyn iltoihin, ja tA�mA�n kaveriksi sopisi hyvin joku tA�ytelA�isempi punaviini.

  • 125 g voita
  • 2 dl sokeria
  • 2 munaa
  • 1,75 dl vehnA�jauhoja
  • 100 g tummaa suklaata rouhittuna
  • 1,5 rkl kaakaojauhetta
  • 1 tl ruokasoodaa
  • 1 tl vaniljasokeria
  • TA�yte:
  • 2 dl kermaa
  • kirskikoita sokeriliemessA�
  • Kuorrutus:
  • 100 g tummaa suklaata
  • 50 g voita
  • 0,25 dl vettA�
  • Koristelu:
  • marenkia, mansikkaa

  • 300 g beetroot
  • 125 g butter
  • 0,8 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 0,7 cup flour
  • 100 g dark chocolate, crushed
  • 1,5 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • Filling:
  • 0,8 cup cream
  • cherries in syruo
  • Frosting:
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 50 g butter
  • 0,1 cup water
  • Decoration:
  • meringue, strawberries

Directions:

  1. Kakku:
  2. Kuori punajuuret ja halkaise neljA�A�n osaan.
  3. KeitA� punajuurilohkot n.30 min tai kunnes ovat kypsyneet pehmeiksi. Valuta hyvin siivilA�ssA�.
  4. Soseuta yleiskoneessa tai varovasti sauvasekoittimella. JA�A�hdytA�.
  5. Vatkaa voi ja sokeri vaahdoksi. LisA�A� munat yksitellen joukkoon koko ajan vatkaten.
  6. LisA�A� lopuksi jA�A�htynyt punajuurisose.
  7. Sekoita kuivat aineet keskenA�A�n ja kA�A�ntele seos varovasti punajuuritaikinaan.
  8. Kumoa valmis taikina voideltuun ja korppujauhotettuun A? 15 cm kakkuvuokaan.
  9. KypsennA� uunin keskiosassa 175 asteessa 55 min tai kunnes kypsA�.
  10. Anna kakun jA�A�htyA� ennen kumoamista.
  11. TA�yte:
  12. Vaahdota kerma kuohkeaksi vaahdoksi.
  13. Halkaise kakku kahtia ja laita kermavaahtoa toisen kakkupohjan pA�A�lle. LisA�A� kirsikoita kermavaahdon pA�A�lle. Laita toinen kakkupohja pA�A�lle.
  14. Kuorrute:
  15. Sulata kaikki ainekset vesihauteessa. Sekoita tasaiseksi.
  16. LevitA� hieman jA�A�htynyt kuorrutus kakulle lastan avulla.
  17. Anna kakun levA�tA� kylmA�ssA� ainakin tunnin ennen tarjoilua.
  18. Koristelu:
  19. Koristele kakku marengeilla ja mansikoilla.

  21. Cake:
  22. Peel the beetroot and cut into four parts.
  23. Cook the beetroot blocks for 30 minutes or until they are ripe to soft. Roll well on the sieve.
  24. Sauce in a general machine or gently with a hand mixer. Cool.
  25. Whisk butter and sugar to foam. Add eggs one by one to the foam and mix well all the time.
  26. Finally add the cooled beetroot juice.
  27. Mix the dry ingredients together and gently turn the mixture into the beetroot batter.
  28. Undo the finished batter in an anointed and floured A? 15 cm cake pan.
  29. Cook in the middle of the oven at 175 degrees for 55 minutes or until mature.
  30. Allow the cake to cool before it is overturn.
  31. Filling:
  32. Whisk the cream until it’s fluffy foam.
  33. Cut the cake in half and put whipped cream over the other cake base. Add cherries to whipped cream. Put another cake on top.
  34. Frosting:
  35. Melt all the ingredients in the water bath. Stir to smooth.
  36. Apply a slightly cool frosting to the cake with a spatula.
  37. Let the cake rest in the cold at least one hour before serving.
  38. Decoration:
  39. Decorate the cake with meringues and strawberries.
